1. How to Read Your Eye Prescription (RX)
Your prescription might look like a collection of confusing numbers, but it’s the blueprint for your vision.

- OD (Oculus Dexter): Your right eye.
- OS (Oculus Sinister): Your left eye.
- SPH (Sphere): Indicates the lens power needed to correct nearsightedness (-) or farsightedness (+).
- CYL & Axis: These numbers only appear if you have astigmatism.
- ADD: Found in prescriptions for multifocal lenses, indicating the additional power needed for reading.
2. How to Measure Your Pupillary Distance (PD) at Home
Pupillary Distance (PD) is the distance between the centers of your pupils in millimeters. This measurement ensures the "optical center" of your lenses sits directly in front of your eyes.
- The Ruler Method: Stand 8 inches from a mirror, hold a millimeter ruler against your brow, and measure the distance from the center of your right pupil to the center of your left.

3. Understanding Single Vision vs. Progressive Lenses
Choosing the right lens type depends on your lifestyle and age:
- Single Vision Lenses: The most common lens type, designed to correct vision at a single distance (either for driving/distance or for reading).
- If your prescription includes SPH, CYL, and AXIS but does not include an ADD value, we recommend selecting this option.
- Progressive Lenses: The modern "no-line" alternative to bifocals. They offer a seamless transition between distance, intermediate (computer), and near (reading) vision in one single lens.

4. How to Choose the Right Lens Thickness (Index)
The Lens Index determines how thin and light your glasses will be. Selecting the right index is crucial for high-prescription wearers:
- 1.56 Index: Perfect for mild prescriptions (up to +/-2.00).
- 1.61 & 1.67 Index: "High-Index" options that are up to 30% thinner than standard lenses. Ideal for moderate to strong prescriptions (+/-2.00 to +/-6.00).
- 1.71 & 1.74 Index: The thinnest lenses available. These are a must-have for very strong prescriptions to avoid the "coke-bottle" effect and reduce frame weight(+/-2.00 to +/-10.00).
5. Can I Use My FSA/HSA to Buy Glasses?
Yes! Prescription eyewear is considered a medical expense. You can use your Flexible Spending Account (FSA) or Health Savings Account (HSA) card at Velora to purchase:

At Velora, we are committed to providing you with high-quality, precision-crafted eyewear. Since all lenses must be assembled by hand, our processing time is longer than standard retail:
- Order Processing: Please allow 14 days for our optical specialists to precision-grind, polish, and quality-check your lenses before shipment.
- Delivery：Once your lenses have been finished, we will ship them to you via USPS, and they should arrive in about 4 days.
- Order Cut-off: Orders placed on weekends or public holidays will begin processing on the next business day.
Yes! We offer Free Standard Shipping on all orders over $30.
For orders below this amount, a $5 flat shipping fee will be applied at checkout.

If you are not 100% satisfied with your glasses within 30 days of delivery—whether it's the fit, the style, or the prescription—you are eligible for a one-time exchange or a return for a partial refund.
Please note that we do not accept returns or exchanges for custom prescription glasses (including personalized lens coatings and specific prescriptions). As these products are custom-made to your unique visual requirements, they cannot be resold.
